Family-owned and -operated businesses make up nearly 90% of U.S. businesses and account for 75% to 85% of the country’s Gross National Product. About one-third of these businesses are owned by women. To say that they are a foundation of our economy is, perhaps, an understatement.
Recently, the Dallas Business Journal recognized PMUSA as an outstanding family-owned business. The publication ranked PMUSA No. 14 on its list of Top 25 family-owned businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It’s a great opportunity to be recognized for this accomplishment, especially during our 40th year in business.
Rachel and Jason will be talking about the family business, including lessons they learned from their parents, on an upcoming podcast called The Business Edge, which highlights entrepreneurs in the U.S. In the interview, which will be available starting March 18, they’ll discuss how lessons they learned from their parents affect business operations today, and how they have learned to focus on employee satisfaction to meet customer expectations.
Rachel and Jason’s interview will be on Stitcher, an on-demand Internet radio service that focuses on news and information radio and podcasts. It provides free online streaming through the website and via mobile applications on Android, BlackBerry, iPhone and Palm webOS. To listen to Rachel and Jason, tune in live on March 18 or listen any time after that using the “Episode on Demand” button.
We know it takes much more than the ownership team to achieve this kind of recognition, and we are thankful to each of you for your support!
